Community Jobs Initiative

WGS proudly supports the Link Wentworth’s community jobs initiative, providing training for your young people within the community.

In addition to providing Landscape Maintenance and Arboriculture Services across their sites, the business is part of Link Wentworth’s community jobs initiative. As part of this program, WGS provides hands on training & support for young people from within the community, giving them the tools, skills and confidence to help us provide landscape maintenance on Link Wentworth Community Housing sites.

WGS Founder and CEO Geoff Timpson believes “It’s so important for us to give back to the community in which we operate, giving people the training and support to build their future. It really does have a flow on effect to the broader community.”  Under Geoff’s leadership, we develop their landscape maintenance skills, teaching participants about safe work practices, working in a team to achieve shared outcomes and cultivating pride in their work. This program builds confidence and maturity in the young people who participate, give them a reason to work hard and we also offer Apprenticeship Roles within our team to young people who are successful in the program.

Rewarding for both the participants and our team who supervise, coach and encourage them, this program creates a step change in these young people’s confidence and a positive outlook for their future.

Proud to care for your property

At Waratah we value relationships, collaboration, and quality. We treat every property we work on as if it were our own and we’re proud to care for the communities in which we operate.

WGS has grown from a Sydney lawn mowing run in 1997 to maintaining hundreds of sites across Greater Sydney today. Our local roots run deep, and shape how we work, source and grow.

We continue prioritising local, whether sourcing plants and materials, investing in equipment, or growing our team to support new contracts. This commitment strengthens our service delivery and our connection to the communities we work in.

Beyond the work we do on the ground, we are committed to creating positive impact more broadly — for our people, our partners and our communities. That’s why we’ve formalised our approach through our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments and our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), alongside our Capability Statement. These documents demonstrate the good work WGS is doing while caring for your properties, and the responsibility we take in shaping a sustainable, inclusive future.

At WGS, we deliver comprehensive, end-to-end landscape maintenance services tailored to the operational needs of large-scale sites and complex environments from Newcastle down to Ulladulla, and from the Sydney CBD to the Blue Mountains and beyond. Our clients include government departments, local councils, commercial property managers, and organisations overseeing housing estates, sporting facilities, aged care, medical and public open spaces.

With experienced operations managers, qualified horticultural teams, and a fleet of specialist machinery, we maintain a wide range of landscapes efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.
